Project Details

Hero/Beech-Nut's current facility located in Canajoharie, NY, has been producing baby food since 1931. To remain competitive, we first had to determine whether or not the Canajoharie site could be upgraded with new technology. Once we determined the site could not be updated without halting production, we began to investigate other options. The State of New York has been our home for over a century and with the new facility, we remain committed to growth and the roots of our legacy.

We determined that relocating to the Town of Florida, NY, was our best option. The site is located on Route 5-S in Florida. Both Hero/Beech-Nut baby food and cereal production will occur at the new site.

Some project highlights include:

  • Hero Group, Inc., which owns Hero/Beech-Nut, is investing approximately $124 million in the project to create the most modern baby food plant in North America.
  • The new site will be a 550,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility that will consolidate processing and packaging plants and relocate Hero Group/Beech-Nut's North American corporate headquarters to Florida, New York.
  • The new site is in the Florida Industrial Park, next to the 1.2 million-square-foot Target Distribution Center.
  • The operation will be the only Hero Group/Beech-Nut manufacturing facility in the U.S.
